Excellent for removing Tubular Wheel glue, August 2, 2014

Excellent for removing the glue from high-end, carbon Tubular carbon cycling wheels (like Zipps). So much better than any other method. Just apply, wait a bit and wipe the glue off with a rag. Has no effect whatsoever with the carbon wheel surface. I’ve used it on a Zipp 900/808 pair a few times. Afterwards the surface is pristine. No scraping needed.

Full disclosure: the glue the I use/remove is Vittoria Mastik. Have never tried on other tubular glues.

Tried my 3rd coat in the last 2 hours and no blistering, peeling or any evidence that this is even trying to remove the paint (how is that possible?). Very disappointed in this product, i must have got the one can they forgot to add the necessary stripping ingredient.

This product was extremely difficult to open. The lid said to press down and twist, but I had to use a paint can opener to pry off the plastic lid, and again to remove the metal screw-on cap underneath.

The product applied clear, which made it a little difficult to see where it had been applied. It took two to three coats of this product to strip the surface I was working on (an unstained dining table with polyurethane topcoat). The positive aspects of this product are that 1) the odor wasn’t pervasive (I was able to use it in my living room without even opening a window), and 2) I was able to clean the brush I used to apply the product with only dishwashing soap and water.
